Finding Your Color Personality

Currently, many color personality quizzes are available online. Perhaps you have tried these quizzes in hopes of finding your color personality.  With so many methods available that produce varying results, it can be difficult to ascertain your colors.

Choosing the right personality color quiz can be both confusing and challenging. Some color quizzes suggest that they can select your colors based on your personality. Other quizzes assign your personality color by utilizing the colors that you have selected.

Typically, when taking a color personality quiz, there is a short questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire determine your color personality. You could be asked questions pertaining to your external features or other random preferences.

Many personality quizzes start with questions unrelated to color. Topics can range from work ethic to movie titles or even favorite cuisines. Your color personality is then determined based on those responses.

Other quizzes display a series of colors and ask you to choose your favorite color. Personality traits are then displayed and sometimes explained.

Personality Color Quizzes

Here are a few examples of color personality quizzes:

  • What Color Is Your True Personality Quiz: This quiz assesses your color through 10 decision-making questions. You receive one color as a result, along with an explanation.
  • What Color Of The Rainbow Is Your Personality Quiz: This quiz poses color and design-centric questions. Similar to the quiz above, the result is one color, along with an explanation.
  • Empowered by Color Quiz: This method asks you to choose your favorite color from a list. Each color has corresponding personality traits.
  • Colour Personality Quiz: This quiz directs you to choose your favorite color from a list of 16 colors and delivers corresponding personality traits.
  • True Colors Personalities Quiz: This method works in tandem with the Myers-Briggs test. Results are segmented into four personality types and offer four possible color results, orange, gold, green, blue, that the quiz purports to correlate to a personality type. This test has a price point of $49.95.

Each of these methodologies present inconsistencies and create confusion. Selecting one single color to reflect your entire personality is severely limiting. Additionally, when answering hypothetical, scenario based questions, many external factors, such as the time of day, past experiences or current mood can influence your answers. Using external factors or outside influences to determine a color that aligns with your personality can lead to unreliable and misleading results.

These color personality quizzes do not account for the millions of colors in the world, nor do they account for your true, genetic based color preferences. Narrowing down your results to just one or two colors is hardly beneficial and does not aid you in creating an optimal color environment.

C Color does not advocate a personality color or colors for an individual’s personality, as the approach is not logical or linear. There are millions of colors in the world and each person can wear and live and thrive in millions of blues, yellows, reds, greens etc.

Arbitrarily assigning personality colors to individuals does not make sense, as there are many layers to the personalities of individuals and hundreds, if not thousands of descriptive terms relating to the personalities of individuals.
